The New Babysitter, a Story
Kathy, Naomi, and Daphne Newly Repainted Dolls by Nancy Lee Moran 16-inch (40 cm) Vinyl Dolls Created by Helen Kish The three dolls here have their original names, as named by Kish.

Waiting to see a performance of the ballet Giselle with her friend Naomi, Kathy worried about being late for it.
"Where is Daphne?" she fretted while flipping back her long hair.
"Oh, I think I see her walking up the street now," said Naomi, patting her friend's shoulder. "My mother will drive us downtown as soon as Daphne arrives."
You see, there was a little problem, as in a "little bitty problem" ~ Kathy's baby sister Patience. Daphne was new to babysitting and was nervous. Fortunately, Kathy's mother was available as needed, at work in her office at home.

Everyone studies the wee problem.
What a big responsibility!
What should I do if she fusses?
You can carry her and bounce a little. She likes to be cuddled, too.
Ready, Naomi? We're off to the ballet! Good Luck, Daphne! You'll be fine.

Baby Patience is a treasured part of my own doll collection. Patience was created by Debra Lee Lyback of Minnesota, who is known as pottedgirl on eBay, also as Heartwork Babies. Patience is a OOAK (one of a kind) miniature sculpture made of Prosculpt doll-makers polymer clay. Just waking up, Patience has one squinty eye open.

Kathy Kish, Before and After Painting
Kathy by Kish & Company has been painted with side-glancing greenish gray eyes and spring-rose lips, also facial contouring. Kathy and her 12-inch sister doll Kitten were produced in 1998 by Helen Kish. A 16-inch (40 cm) vinyl doll, Kathy has joints at her neck, shoulders, and hips. I hot-water-permed some braids and face-framing curls into her rooted hair. I learned on the Kish Company Yahoo doll board (See link below) that Kathy's facial sculpt was also used for the dolls Spectre de la Rose (2002) and Coppelia (2000).
I purchased this doll nude (without her original clothing). Here she wears a like-new dress that complements her coloring, which I purchased from a doll-collector friend. The dress, named Bourgeons Et Floraisons, was created in 2005 (as a pattern proof) by MHD Designs to fit any 16-inch Kish doll. It has a mohair coat and hat with hand-embroidery. The bodice has embroidery, beads and handmade fabric flowers. Both coat and bodice close with loops and fancy buttons. As you can see in one photo, it has the original certificate signed by the artist MHD. She has pretty socks and burgundy shoes, too.

Naomi Kish, Before and After Painting
Naomi by Kish & Company has been repainted with dark-chocolate brown eyes and russet lips, also facial contouring. Naomi and her 12-inch sister doll Tooloo were part of the 1997 Sisters Collection by Helen Kish, sets limited to 750. I purchased this doll nude (without her original clothing). Here she wears a new seamstress-made dress that complements her coloring and is similar in coloring to her original clothing. I purchased new black Boneka shoes for her. A 16-inch vinyl doll, Naomi has joints at her neck, shoulders, and hips. Her wig is original. I applied moleskin to her head so that her wig can be easily changed to any size 7/8 wig.

Daphne Kish, Before and After Painting
Daphne by Kish & Company has been painted by Nancy with blue eyes like robin eggs, also facial contouring. Daphne and her 12-inch sister doll Flora were part of the 1997 Sisters Collection by Helen Kish. A 16-inch (40 cm) vinyl doll, Daphne has joints at her neck, shoulders, and hips. Her rooted blond hair, hair ribbons, cream boots, and dress with Raggedy Anne design are original to her design.
