"Sisterly Love"

Linda, the mother of the girls, who liked to do heirloom sewing, played viola and had a small violin for the girls. "Sisterly Love" is a fine example of Romantic Realism painting, with its dreamy, whimsical feelings. I took photos of the girls indoors using a large window for light, then added the lilacs from imagination and other references.

I painted a separate pastel of the girls' brother with a puppy, so his art could have a more manly look. Linda wrote to me after the photo session: I appreciated your artistic touch and the way you treated each of the children with respect and warmth, so they felt happy and special. It was a delight to have you in our home.
